In France, the following information is used on the packaging:

The health mark, in an oval. Since January 2008, F becomes FR (France) and CEE is replace by CE (Europe). The 8 digits are the health approval number atributed to production site.

The barcode: it indicates the product family, the brand, the model, the packing.


Date: 2 types exist:

- the use-by date (DLC) with the words 'use by' after that date, the product is unsuitable for consumption.

- the deadline for optimal use (BBD) with "best before" : after that date, products can still be consumed without risk but may lost some of their taste or nutritional qualities.
