Grand Cru Red Label Emmental

A raw milk traditional production for a hole cheese with formerly flavors.

Le Montagnon Grand Cru Red Label Emmental received the Red Label and the Protected Designation of Origin. 

Free from preservatives and artificial colourings, its traditional production give a particular relief to cheeses which remind savours of olden times and give a gourmet touch to recipes. 


Organoleptic tests are also regularly conducted to prove taste qualities of Red Label product, quality which had to be always higher than current similar products.

Red Label is never definitively given to a product. Only its constant quality allow it to retain this distinction.

Red Label logo is a registred trademark of French ministry for agriculture. Created in 1960, it’s the only official sign certifying a higher qualit level. The French government,through the National Institute for Origin and Quality (INAO), certify organization called Advocacy Management Organization (ODG) representing a collective industry.

 The protected geographical indications (PGI) identify an agricultural product, raw or processed, which quality, reputation or other characteristics are linked to its geographical origin.

To be eligible for obtaining this official sign related to the quality and origin, a step at least among production, transformation or development of this product must take place in the defined geographical area. PGI is related to skill.

The rules for preparing a PGI are listed in the specifications and are subject to control procedures implemented by an independent body approved by the INAO.
